No. 2084 Euphonium solo - Before his throne (Olaf Ritman).
Originally conceived as a duet, this solo is based on Vikki Cook's song, 'Before the throne of God above'.
No. 2085 Great Lakes mission (Leonard Ballantine).
This music was written for the 125th anniversary of the start of the work of The Salvation Army in London and Hamilton, Ontario. The tune, 'Sine Nomine' with the associated text, 'For all the saints who from their labours rest' is used to depict the continuance of Salvation Army ministry throughout the 125 years. The interplay of past legacy, present activity and a vision for the future is apparent as the musical dialogue unfolds.
No. 2086 Hymn tune arrangement - My Father's world (Andrew Blyth).
The tune, 'Terra Beata' was originally a traditional English folk tune which was subsequently arranged and published in its present form by the American composer Franklyn L Sheppard. 'Terra Beata' is Latin for 'beautiful world' and the tune compliments Maltbie Davenport Babcock's words very well.
No. 2087 March - Sweet Chariot (Ray Steadman-Allen).
Originally written as a theme march for the Rolls-Royce (Coventry) Band, this 'bright and breezy' work features the spiritual, 'Swing low, sweet chariot'.
